Ms Cynthia Whitman

Research Fellow

Ms. Cynthia Whitman joined the ACTwatch team as a Research Fellow for the Greater Mekong Subregion in July of 2015. Her primary responsibilities are to conduct data collection, training, fieldwork, and data analysis, and to generate study reports. Ms. Whitman’s previous experience includes working as field officer with the Ugandan Ministry of Health for HIV/AIDS vaccine research, and as a research manager in the U.S. focused on improving processes, quality, effectiveness, and outcomes of care through development and validation of patient-reported outcomes measures, quality of life assessments, patient-provider communication portals, and health education interventions. Ms. Whitman holds an M.P.H. in Epidemiology and a Global Health Certificate from the Fielding School of Public Health at UCLA, and a B.A. from Connecticut College with a double major in Economics and Urban Studies. Ms. Whitman has both lived and worked in Thailand and Vietnam, and is excited to be back in the region for the first time in 8 years.
