Myanmar is one of four countries in the Greater Mekong subregion where parasite resistance to artemisinins has been detected. PSI/Myanmar's artemisinin monotherapy replacement project is one component of a broader Myanmar Artemisinin Resistance Containment (MARC) framework. Outlet, household, and supply chain surveys using ACTwatch study-methodology contribute important data to resistance monitoring efforts in the country.

Since 2012, four outlet surveys have been conducted (2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015) in Myanmar. Although the 2015 outlet survey was the only survey funded by ACTwatch, prior surveys used ACTwatch methodologyMyanmar became a formal member of the ACTwatch country roster in 2013. The 2012 outlet survey report is available here. The results from the 2015 outlet survey will be available soon.
