As Uganda had a high malaria burden and a high demand for antimalarials during the ACTwatch project period, it actively pursued intervention policies. The country had a highly regulated market and strong provision of antimalarials in both the public and community-based sectors. Uganda was one of the pilot countries for the "factory gate" subsidy of ACTs through the AMFm from 2010-2013.
ACTwatch conducted six outlet surveys (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2015) and two household surveys (2009 and 2012), as well as qualitative and quantitative supply chain research (2009) in Uganda. Results from all surveys and research are available at the Results & publications page.
